Hey, we’d like to use temporary session cookies to see if our results are relevant to your queries. This helps us improve our ranking algorithm.

Our search engine is designed to be ephemeral. We assign you a temporary session identifier, a cookie, that exists only while your browser is open. We do not recognize you across different visits or devices. If tracking is enabled, information from your sessions is used to understand if our search engine is giving you the results you're looking for and, in turn, to improve the search results. The session cookie is an analytics cookie. It's not required for you to use the search engine.
If you decide not to be tracked, your session cookie won't be placed on any logs and we won't be able understand what you do within a session. You'll still see the session cookie in your browser, but it's not used for logging. You can change your tracking preferences at any time.
We also have a preference cookie that remembers your tracking preferences and expires after a year with no use. It's not used for logging.
The name given to you (currently Guest) corresponds to the last byte of your randomly generated internal identifier associated to your session cookie. It will change with each new search session to show you that we don't track you over time. If it matches your real name, it's just a coincidence.
